In two hours, police patrols, drones, dog patrols and a helicopter searched for the baby who was reported missing in August. Initially, one suspected that someone had taken the child, but it turned out that it was lying in its stroller in the same place where the father had left it, reports TV4 News.
It was simply negligence from the side of this adult who was responsible for the child. But I do not go into any details about exactly what has happened, says Robert Beckard, senior prosecutor to TV4.
The baby, a seven-day-old girl, was doing well under the circumstances when she was found.
Now the incident is being investigated as endangering another person and the father has been informed of the suspicion of a crime. The social services are also involved in the case. According to TV4's information, the father was under the influence of drugs at the time of the incident – but that is something Beckard does not comment on.
I have a theory but I cannot go into that. I want to carry out the investigative measures first, he says.
