Sweden will face the Czech Republic in the final of the World Junior Ice Hockey Championship. Sweden's match against Canada was decided in the dramatic final minutes.

The semi-final between Canada and the Czech Republic was evenly matched in goals, with the teams alternately taking the lead and equalizing.

With about three minutes left in the game, Canada tied the score once again through Porter Martone, making it 4–4. But just over a minute later Tomas Poletin put the Czechs ahead, making it 5–4.

Vojtech Cihar then punctuated the match with an empty-net goal in the final minute, making it 6–4.

The victory means the Czech Republic will face Sweden in the final. Sweden defeated Finland earlier, local time in Sweden.
