The cyclist was taken to hospital by ambulance helicopter, but his life could not be saved, according to the police.
The police are now investigating the accident that occurred on county road 686. Among other things, the police have flown with a drone to document the accident site. Both the car and the bicycle have been seized.
The driver of the car has not yet been able to be interviewed.
We simply have to wait and see what the circumstances are surrounding the actual accident, says police press spokesperson Angelica Forsberg.
So far, no one is suspected of a crime.
Whether someone will be notified of suspicion of a crime or not is something we will see when the investigation is complete. What we can say is that it will be investigated.
