Earlier on Tuesday, Sveriges Radio Blekinge reported that the delivery of this year's May flowers was delayed. But now the organization announces that the May flowers will be shipped to Sweden in two batches, "to ensure that the children receive their bags with flowers".
"Due to the global unrest, one of our two deliveries has arrived later than usual. We have still managed to deliver May flowers to almost all children, but a few groups are still waiting. We are extremely sorry for this, and I can guarantee that we have done everything and are still working hard to fix the remaining May flowers. They will arrive shortly", says the General Secretary of Mayflower, Åse Henell, in the press release.
On its website, the organization writes that it is primarily about delays in Asian ports, "where the uncertain global situation and increased customs handling have led to long waiting times".
Due to the delay, the organization announces that it will extend the sales period until May 4.
