It was during Thursday evening that several people contacted the authorities having received false SMS or emails. In the attempted fraud, it is stated that a package is being held at "Customs at Arlanda Airport" pending payment of customs duties by the recipient.

If the duties for the package are not paid, additional "storage fees of 75 kr per day" will be incurred. The recipient is also urged to click on links.

The carrier is stated to be GLS Sweden, but the sender's email varies. The Customs Office itself assesses that it concerns a comprehensive mass mailing.
