"Ralle" and "Bella" Wranå are the siblings who went home to their cabins. But it was far from certain that Sweden would win gold in Cortina.

What a luxury we have in Sweden - that it's a problem for me to select a team, says national team captain Alison Kreviazuk.

The Canadian relied on both facts and gut feeling when she entrusted Rasmus and Isabella Wranå with the Olympic mixed doubles curling spot.

The choice was not obvious. Oskar Eriksson and Anna Hasselborg were also in contention.

Also an incredibly talented pair. It can be a bit tricky to choose, but I think Rasmus and "Bella" had won the World Cup and they showed strong tour results, so... says Kreviazuk.

To which she adds with a smile:

... that was probably right.

Despite the Olympic gold, the Wranås will not be allowed to go to the World Championships this spring. The place will go to Therese Westman and Robin Ahlberg.

Another great team. I see a bright future for Swedish mixed doubles, says Alison Kreviazuk.
