"I think it's a bit strange when we start judging artists based on political colour, or which party's events they have played at. It's not a sustainable democratic climate and definitely not a climate that benefits culture in Sweden," writes Parisa Liljestrand (M) in a post on Facebook.
The Minister of Culture further says that municipalities and festivals are of course allowed to make their own decisions, but it is "sad if, as an artist in Sweden, you have to be afraid to express yourself politically, or take on certain assignments, for fear of being cancelled."
