In a sixth nationwide power outage, Cubans endured another night without electricity. The grid crashed on Sunday evening local time, according to state-owned electricity company UNE on social media.
On Monday morning, power began to return - in the capital Havana, 23 percent of households were reported to have regained power, AFP writes.
The country's electricity grid is still heavily dependent on imported fossil fuels. The US naval blockade of Cuba has cut off the country's oil supplies. The last major shipment was a Russian tanker that the US allowed through in March, but that fuel has now run out.
