Premier League team Crystal Palace qualified for the European League the past season, after winning the FA Cup.
But since the club's former owner John Textor is also the majority owner of Lyon, which also qualified for the European League, Crystal Palace was relegated to the European Conference League. A decision made by the European football association (Uefa).
Now Crystal Palace has appealed the relegation to the sports arbitration court, Cas.
John Textor has sold his 43 percent of the club, but the sale is said to have taken place too late.
Crystal Palace's appeal is about that they do not think they are still violating Uefa's ownership rules, since they and Lyon no longer share an owner, and that they therefore should be allowed to participate in the European League.
