The Tax Agency has reviewed the trade in crypto currencies and notes that many neglect to report their transactions.
Only 9,000 people reported their trade last year, but according to the Tax Agency's estimates, between 320,000 and 740,000 people, or 3 to 7 percent of the population, have traded in crypto currencies. The year before, 6,000 people reported their trade.
The Tax Agency estimates that the unreported trade meant around 1.5 billion kronor in incorrect tax in 2021, and that the figure has not decreased since then.
Now, more checks will be made and the Tax Agency states that the possibilities for control will be improved when new, international rules come into force.
