A crypto trader is being charged with serious tax evasion. The suspect is alleged to have avoided paying 107 million kronor in taxes by not reporting profits from crypto transactions, according to the Swedish Economic Crime Agency (EBM).

"Since the amounts involved are very large, I consider the crime to be serious," says Linnea Hedström, a prosecutor at the Swedish Economic Crime Authority.

According to the indictment, the suspect registered in Georgia to avoid Swedish taxation.

"The person was wanted internationally and was arrested in the autumn at an airport in Amsterdam," EBM writes in a press release.
