On Friday, it was announced that Mette-Marit has been placed on the waiting list for a lung transplant. Her pulmonary fibrosis has worsened over the past six months.
On Sunday afternoon, she and her husband, Crown Prince Haakon, visited her son, Marius Borg Høiby, who is in custody on suspicion of, among other things, several rapes, Norwegian media report.
Marius Borg Høiby has requested to be released pending sentencing, a request the police and prosecutors have not agreed to. The matter will be heard in Oslo District Court on Monday.
