Mette-Marit attended the ceremony together with Crown Prince Haakon and Prince Sverre Magnus. The Children's Parade is an 80-year-old tradition in which children visit the royal family on May 17 at the Skaugum residence in Asker, southwest of Oslo.
The Crown Princess, who is seriously ill with the chronic lung disease pulmonary fibrosis and is on the waiting list for a lung transplant, sat down on a high stool during the parade. She then left the event before it was over.
