We went through how it became what it became and I got to vent what I felt in those situations. Then after that, we discussed what needs to be done going forward, says Thomas Brottman to SVT.

Prior to the home World Championship in Malmö in December – where Sweden had to settle for silver after the final loss to Finland – Brottman and Nordén received the message that they would not have continued confidence after the floorball championship.

Several national team players questioned the association's decision, but now it is announced that Brottman will continue as the sole national team captain.

"This has been our main goal from the start. We had a positive meeting with Thomas during the autumn where we decided to take up the dialogue after the World Championship. When the tournament was over, we saw each other again and could, after a few constructive talks, agree on the future", says Joakim Lindström, head of sports development at the association, in a press release.

The duo Nordén and Brottman took over as national team captains in 2021 and led Sweden to two golds and one silver at the World Championship. The new agreement with Thomas Brottman runs for four years.
