Pavlek is wanted by Interpol, according to the newspaper Blick.

Pavlek himself participated in three Olympics in the 1990s, but had been the head of the Croatian federation until he stepped down in 1998. The country's anti-corruption agency launched an investigation against him at the end of March.

After the Olympics in Milan and Cortina, the 52-year-old reportedly traveled to Istanbul. His lawyer says Pavlek is on vacation and denies all allegations.
