The review of the test protocols shows that so-called acceptance tests were carried out on the supplier Cambio's own computers, far from the environment in which the system would actually be used.

Johan Magnusson, a professor at the University of Gothenburg, says there has been insufficient evidence that the system works in practice.

"It should be in the intended production environment," Magnusson tells the radio, adding that economic pressure may have contributed to an accelerated process.

Cambio responds that the tests were conducted in an environment identical to that in which healthcare professionals work, and the regional cooperation points out that the tests comply with the procurement requirements.

Mats Lundin, chairman of the regional cooperation, tells the radio that the regions are responsible for the tests and carried them out.

Healthcare professionals warned early on about a slow, difficult-to-use system.
