Criticism over delayed action against transfer violations

The Social Democrats (S) are criticizing and proposing a new package of rules to increase transparency, introduce mandatory permits for agents, and strengthen control over the money that circulates around player transfers.

According to the press release from S, the government has said that agent activities are a risk area for economic crime, but that it is not planning any national measures before new EU regulations come into force in the summer of 2029.

A few weeks ago, Swedish Elite Football and Women's Elite Football announced that they would investigate the issue of transparency in player transfers.
