During the African Football Championship, there were ways for blind people to "watch" the matches. It will not be available for the final. "It would have meant a lot," says blind Moroccan Mohammed El Hachimi.

During three matches of the championship, plates shaped like football fields with magnetic markers showed where the ball was during the game.

This was greatly appreciated by supporters with visual impairments and was highlighted as a good, inclusive initiative by the host country, Morocco.

However, when the final is played on Sunday evening between Senegal and Morocco, the visual aid will not be available.

"This final, with our national team, should have included better representation for blind fans. It would have meant a lot to us to be part of such an important moment," says Mohammed El Hachimi.

Morocco has been under pressure to show its best side during the African Championships, as it will host the 2030 World Cup together with Spain and Portugal, with occasional matches in Paraguay, Argentina and Uruguay.
