The University Hospital Santa Fe reports on Monday afternoon, Swedish time, that Uribe "barely" has responded to medical interventions, including several operations, and is still in a critical condition with an uncertain prognosis.
The 39-year-old senator for the right-wing party Centro Democrático, who has announced that he will run in next year's presidential election, was shot in the head and leg.
President Gustavo Petro announces on Monday that the security personnel around Uribe were reduced by more than half on Saturday.
"I must now report that the security detail around Senator Uribe strangely decreased on the day of the attack, from seven to three people," Petro writes on X and adds that he requested that the government decision be investigated.
A 15-year-old boy has been arrested suspected of the crime, where two other people were injured.
The motive is still unclear.
