They think this is extremely troublesome, says Region Gävleborg's health and medical care director Martin Andersson, one of the regional leaders who visited Hudiksvall's hospital on Monday, to SVT.

The murder suspect was admitted to the psychiatric inpatient care at Hudiksvall's hospital on Thursday after threatening ambulance staff with a baseball bat.

The suspect's father expressed criticism on Sunday about how psychiatry handled his son, who he claims left the ward on Friday of his own accord.

Psychiatry should have kept him, said the father to SVT on Sunday.

In the psychiatric ward, the employer is now trying to support the staff after what has happened.

Then we have to look at, analyze and take a stand on whether we could have done something differently? Can we do differently in the future? says Martin Andersson.

Some of those questions are within my mandate, and some are outside my mandate. At present, I feel that we must take care of our staff.

It was on Saturday that a female ambulance nurse in her 45s was killed during an emergency call to Harmånger, north of Hudiksvall.
