26-year-old Åberg started with five bogeys on the first nine holes and finished the day in Ohio at six over par and 78 strokes.

It was brutally bad. I didn't recognize myself in my game. I putted too badly, said the Swede on HBO Max.

He also said he would prefer to have the day undone.

In total, Åberg is five over par and, in the end, he barely made the qualifying mark.

The tournament's other Swede, Alex Norén, is tied for 22nd place.
