Three cows fell into a large, deep hole and were standing in mud up to their necks outside Sösdala in Hässleholm on Monday morning. The rescue service's animal rescue unit went to the scene, but had difficulty reaching the animals.
"There was someone on site who had an excavator and made an access road to the site," says Jan-Olov Fröjd, operations leader at the rescue services in Hässleholm.
It is unclear how the cows ended up in the pit, but they were eventually lifted out of the mud. The animals' owners were involved in the operation, which Kristianstadsbladet first reported.
