Three people are acquitted due to insufficient evidence, the Court of Appeal for Skåne and Blekinge said in a statement. This concerns two people who had been convicted by the district court of aiding and abetting a serious drug offense, and one person who had been convicted of a drug offense.
The Court of Appeal also finds that the drug offenses for which eight of the defendants are to be convicted carry a higher penalty value than the district court concluded. In Helsingborg District Court, a total of twelve people were convicted for various forms of involvement in cannabis cultivation.
The police tracked down the cultivation after dumped garbage bags containing cannabis residues and cultivation equipment were found in various locations in northwestern Skåne and Småland over an extended period.
