Fenn's case has been brought by the Discrimination Ombudsman, who has announced that the matter will be taken to the highest court.

"The issue is of great principle and affects many people in society. The DO will request leave to appeal to the Supreme Court," says Karin Ahlstrand Oxhamre, head of the DO's legal unit, in a press release.

The case concerns Erik Fenn, now 28, who was not allowed to enlist because he had been diagnosed with Asperger's syndrome as a child. Fenn has since applied to volunteer as a medic for the Ukrainian armed forces, as reported by SvD.
