Two men who were convicted of severe rape against a 15-year-old girl have their sentences reduced in the Court of Appeal, reports Göteborgs-Posten.

The men are now sentenced to five and a half years in prison and lifetime deportation, and thus receive slightly milder punishment.

The incident occurred in November last year, when the men got two 15-year-old girls to follow them to an apartment in a suburb where the crime was later committed. One of the girls managed to escape and raise the alarm.

The men were 18 and 28 years old at the time of the incident and were sentenced to six years in prison in the district court.

"The sentence should for each of the defendants be set above the minimum sentence for gross rape (five years in prison). But the sentence value here is at the same time somewhat lower than the district court found", the court of appeal writes according to the newspaper.
