The number of corporate bankruptcies continues to decline. In September, the decline was 3 percent compared to the same period in 2024, according to new figures from UC. The number of bankruptcies has fallen for six months in a row.

However, it is a divided picture, within for example the hotel and restaurant industry, there has been an increase of 9 percent and in retail, an increase of 28 percent is noted.

"Overall, it is a difficult-to-assess situation for the Swedish economy, but with cautious glimpses of light", says Amanda Aldestam, analyst at UC in a press release.

The figures refer to the period 1-29 September, that is, it does not include the last weekday of the month.
