The Danish pharmaceutical giant's shares fell 4 percent on Wednesday. The fall weighed on the Copenhagen Stock Exchange's broad index, which lost 1.3 percent, while basically all other European exchanges traded higher.
Last night, Novo Nordisk released figures for the second quarter of the year. Sales were higher than expected, and the pharmaceutical company raised its sales forecast for the full year.
But some analysts were disappointed that sales of Wegovy in tablet form did not meet expectations.
“The upgrade (to the sales forecast) was not great,” Jared Holz, a pharmaceutical analyst at Mizuho Securities, wrote in an analysis seen by Bloomberg, adding that the stock was weighed down because the Wegovy tablet failed to meet expectations.
