During the period January to July this year, Copenhagen Airport handled 19,592,000 travellers.
During the same period, state-owned Swedavia's ten airports, including Arlanda, Malmö Airport and Landvetter, handled a combined 19,577,000 passengers.
Kastrup therefore has a lead of approximately 15,000 passengers so far this year.
In 2022, Swedavia's airports had a combined 27.6 million passengers, while Kastrup had just over 22 million.
"Swedavia has good growth in international traffic. At the same time, we can see that Copenhagen has incredibly strong growth. The gap has narrowed and Copenhagen is now catching up with all of Swedavia," says Elizabeth Axtelius, aviation marketing director at Swedavia, to the newspaper.
