The recall applies to Coop Frozen Red Chili, 50 g, with best-before dates of 31 August and 30 September 2026, and 31 March, 31 May and 31 July 2027.
According to a risk assessment, the measured cadmium levels do not pose a direct health risk under normal consumption, Coop writes in a press release.
Coop also says it is taking the incident "very seriously" and is investigating with the supplier how it could have happened.
