This includes the entire west coast, where according to SMHI there will be a high to locally extremely high risk of fires on Tuesday. The risk is also high to very high along the Norrland coast and in the eastern parts of Svealand, in some areas extremely high.
In many places it is still dry, and that means fires can start even if it is not that hot, says Erik Höjgård-Olsen, on-call meteorologist at SMHI.
At the same time, increased rainfall is expected in the coming days, which means the risk may quickly decrease.
It will be cool, with areas of precipitation moving across the country every day, and this will likely have an effect on the fire risk eventually, says Erik Höjgård-Olsen.
