The dissertation has been corrected in several points afterwards by Egyptson. The committee has then come to the conclusion that the content of the dissertation does not constitute misconduct in research.

The dissertation, with the title "Global political Islam? Muslim Brotherhood and Islamic Association in Sweden", was approved by Lund University in 2023 and thereby Egyptson received the title of Doctor of Theology.
