Basic protection - which includes, among other things, the guarantee pension - will be improved, the pension group, which consists of representatives from the eight parties in parliament, promises.
"It is of utmost importance that the pension system is clear and transparent. It is gratifying that we now agree to review the entire basic protection," says the group's chair, Minister of Social Insurance Anna Tenje, in a press release.
The pension group has previously appointed a working group to develop directives for the investigation. The group has now agreed on the proposed directives. The government will continue preparations, then decide on directives and investigators.
The pension group has also supported sending a report on pension levels and pension contributions for consultation.
