The concert at the sports ground Hipodrom in Zagreb has been called a "neofascist Woodstock". The opposition in Croatia has been furious after Prime Minister Andrej Plenkovic was photographed with Perkovic before the concert, reports AFP.
Perkovic has been banned from performing in several countries due to his sympathies with the fascist Ustasha regime in Croatia that ruled during World War II.
Approximately 450,000 tickets were sold to the concert on Saturday – the largest in Croatia's history. This means that Perkovic has surpassed both The Rolling Stones and Tina Turner, reports Euronews.
Perkovic urged the rest of Europe to "return to its traditions and Christian roots" during the concert, reports Euronews.
