The 33-year-old Pernille Harder was one of the scorers against Sweden last time, when Denmark won 2-1 and created a huge opportunity to win the World Cup qualifying group.
But ahead of Friday night's match in Odense, the star has been sidelined with a muscle injury.
According to the Ritzau news agency, Denmark's Thursday training session will be decisive for whether and, if so, for how long Harder can play against Sweden.
"It's progressing day by day. I'll be tested in today's training to see how many minutes I'll be able to play. It's still a bit uncertain," says Harder.
Harder has scored 83 goals in her 171 international appearances so far – while the rest of the current squad has combined to score 64.
