Spain's economy is expected to pick up further, according to the country's government, which is now raising its GDP forecast for the current year. The previous forecast of 2.7 percent is now being revised up to 2.9 percent ahead of the upcoming budget, which is expected to be hammered out on Tuesday.
Spain, the eurozone's fourth largest economy, has performed significantly better than several other leading economies since 2021 thanks to the country's tourism, low energy prices and sustained household consumption.
