According to the EU-harmonized inflation measure, the December inflation rate was 1.8 percent, in line with preliminary calculations.
The inflation target in the eurozone is 2.0 percent.
Continued low inflation pressure in France
December inflation in France, the eurozone's second-largest economy, stood at 1.3 percent, according to the French statistics agency INSEE. It was the same inflation level as in November.
