The southern suburbs have been relatively spared from Israeli attacks in recent days. The area is one of the strongest Hezbollah strongholds and has previously endured sustained attacks from Israel during the war.
Overnight, the Israeli military called on residents of coastal communities near the Lebanese city of Tyre to evacuate, which may indicate an imminent attack.
Since Israel escalated its military operations in Lebanon in early March, at least 1,039 people have been killed, the BBC reports.
In addition, nearly 2,900 people have been injured, according to the latest tally from Lebanon's Ministry of Health.
