Construction costs rose 3.5 percent in August, SCB says

This means price increases of 3.5 percent compared with August 2025. The rate of increase was therefore greater than in July, when annual price increases were measured at 3.2 percent.

Trucking costs increased by 1.3 percent in August compared with July, while electricity prices rose by 5.5 percent. Diesel fuel prices increased by 7.4 percent compared with the previous month.

Interest costs - a significant part of construction costs - also rose sharply, by 1.8 percent in August compared with July, according to the Construction Cost Index.
