A conscript is being charged with unlawful threats against another conscript, whom he became irritated with after a remark about snoring, reports Hallandsposten.

The defendant was in Halland for training at the time of the incident in 2024, when he was told by another conscript that he was snoring.

The following night, the complainant himself began to snore. The defendant then allegedly took out a gun and fired it blindly. According to him, the purpose was to be able to make a movement with his coat to wake the snorer; it was meant as a joke.

According to testimony, the man said the next morning that he had fired blindly at the sleeping man. He later said that the weapon was aimed at the floor.

The man's military service was terminated early. He admits the events, but denies any wrongdoing.
