The match will be in the lightweight/welterweight division and will be their first meeting since 2013. McGregor emerged victorious in that fight.

After his triumph over Eddie Alvarez in November 2016, when McGregor secured the lightweight title, his career has been uneven. He has only fought four times since then, losing three of them.
The last time he stepped into the octagon was in 2021 against Dustin Poirier, which ended with McGregor breaking his leg.
Outside of sports, McGregor has continued to make headlines. In recent years, he has been accused of sexual assault and was convicted of rape in 2024.
