Superstar Connor McDavid has made up his mind. He continues the Stanley Cup hunt with Edmonton. The 28-year-old and the club have agreed on a contract extension.

With one year left on the contract, speculation began to spread wildly in North American media. Could Connor McDavid consider playing for another NHL team?

The answer came with a few days left until Edmonton's first match.

McDavid is staying in the Canadian club.

The star's contract has been extended by two years and will therefore expire in 2027-2028. His salary will be the same as before, 12.5 million American dollars per season.

Connor McDavid, who has played for Edmonton throughout his entire NHL career, has lost in the Stanley Cup final two years in a row against Florida.

The NHL season gets underway late on Tuesday evening, Swedish time, and for Edmonton's part, it begins against Calgary on Thursday night.
