In the 1984–1985 season, legendary Wayne Gretzky accounted for 11 goals and 19 assists in the first ten games in the NHL, writes Aftonbladet.
McDavid has now surpassed that record.
Two goals and three assists against Carolina mean that the 29-year-old has accounted for a total of 31 points in the first ten games.
"I don't know what to say. It's unreal. He might be the best that ever played," teammate Leon Draisaitl said, according to Aftonbladet.
Elsewhere, Boston continues to steamroll.
Elias Lindholm scored one of the goals in the 6–0 victory against Nashville, a victory that means Boston has now scored points in seven straight games.
Nashville, for its part, has only three wins in nine games.
