A total of 3,075 cases have been confirmed in the country, of which 1,354 have been fatal.
The outbreak in Congo-Kinshasa began in May and has affected four provinces. The current outbreak is driven by the Bundibugyo variant, for which there is currently no vaccine or specific treatment.
WHO's head of emergency management, Chikwe Ihekweazu, said earlier in July that the organization's analyses indicate that "the scale of the outbreak is at least two to four times larger than the number of cases we have identified."
