"I have spoken to her several times and she wants to play for Sweden. She made a nationality change that was finalized a week ago, and that is why we took her out in Sweden," U23 national team captain Magnus Wikman tells TV4's Fotbollskanalen.
The 20-year-old is Swedish, but has lived in Norway for many years and has played for the Norwegian youth national team. Norway admits it made a mistake.
"We have now spoken to the player and she confirmed that she wanted to change nations. We note that but respect the player's wish," says the Norwegian national team's media manager Carina Olset to VG.
Bogere currently plays in the American soccer league NWSL for Portland.
