Vegas must win at home against Carolina to stay alive in the finals.
Carolina leads the series 3-2 and can decide the NHL final on Monday night, local time in Sweden.
The Swedish defenseman Erik Karlsson was forced to leave Game 5 after a hard hit by Carolina's Sean Walker in the second period, in which he appeared to injure his left arm.
After the game, Tortorella said that Karlsson could miss the remainder of the finals. Now it is clear that he will miss Game 6.
"He's an important cog for us, in the middle of the ice, in numbers and numbers. He's a winner," Tortorella said.
