Confidence in the future of trade strengthened in May, particularly in retail trade, according to Svensk Handel's latest Trade Barometer.
The future indicator in retail trade rose by 9.7 units to 90.7. Confidence in the future also increased in daily goods trade and wholesale trade, but still view the coming three months with pessimism.
"There is no doubt that trade is still under pressure, but there is hope that the turnaround we are now is the start of something more lasting. This, however, is based on the government delivering on its promises regarding increased growth and purchasing power. A thriving trade nation is beneficial for Sweden as a whole," says Sofia Larsen, CEO of Svensk Handel, in a press release.
