Ten thousand condoms ran out during the first 72 hours of the Olympics. Now, organizers promise that a new supply will arrive for the athletes.

"I think 10,000 condoms were used for 2,800 athletes - you can do the math, as they say," Olympic Committee spokesman Mark Adams said. The numbers clearly show that Valentine's Day was in full swing in the village.

Now the organizers assure that there will be no further condom shortages before the Games close on February 22.

They will be regularly replenished until the end of the Games to ensure availability, the local organizing committee says.

Corrected: In a previous version, the wrong number of condoms was stated.
