The court decided that she would receive 450,000 kronor in compensation for the injury after being subjected to particularly severe assault and several other crimes by her parents. The Board for Compensation for Victims of Crime has decided that she should receive double that amount.
In addition, the girl will also receive over one million kronor for the personal injury she suffered. Among other things, her stomach had to be operated on because of the damage.
“The abuses are extremely serious. They have been carried out systematically, sometimes with extremely ruthless and degrading elements. The girl has found herself in a vulnerable, exposed, and torture-like situation where she had no opportunity to avoid the abuses as they were carried out by her parents in their shared home,” says Magnus Öhrn, head of compensation for victims of crime at the National Board for Crime Victims, in a press release.
