Como thrash Lens 9-1 for biggest win in Champions League history

Como had an early Christmas present away to French side Lens. The Italian team won 9-1 - the biggest victory so far in Champions League football.

Anastasios Douvikas made it 1-0 in the seventh minute, setting the tone. The Greek international striker scored a hat-trick in a relegation battle, where Como were certainly helped by a home team that was more than justifiably passive and weak.

Como may be almost 120 years old, but the club is playing its first-ever Champions League season after finishing fourth in Serie A last season. However, you wouldn't know it. Wednesday night's historic big win was Como's third in the opening four rounds. The club has also beaten both Leipzig and Manchester United 4-1 at home.
