Football striker Roberta Picchi has been diagnosed with breast cancer.
Now the new Serie A club Como has announced that the contract with the 34-year-old will be extended through the 2027-2028 season.
"Roberta will now begin her treatment, supported throughout the process by the club's medical team, who will work closely with the specialists responsible for her care," the club wrote in a statement.
"Grateful to be part of this fantastic club," Picchi writes on Instagram.
The striker was part of the squad that won Serie B last year and secured Como's first season in the women's Serie A.
